    Dr. Paul Marshall will hold two guest presentations at Dordt College on Monday, November 2 as part of Dordt’s first Monday speaker series. Marshall will speak on “Christian vocations in politics” at 11 AM in the BJ Haan Auditorium, followed by a presentation on “Understanding Radical Islam” at 7:30 PM in the science building lecture hall S101. The public is welcome to attend either event.

  • Community Prayer Breakfast -- 6:30 AM
    The Sioux Center Kiwanis Club is hosting a Community Prayer Breakfast at 6:30 AM on Tuesday, November 3, in the Dordt College Campus Center. Speaker will be Michael Ten Haken, who will speak about the lessons of faith he learned from a boating accident on Lake Michigan last summer. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at any Sioux Center bank.

This international touring ensemble will present psalm-based music from the Reformation Era. Dordt choirs will also participate in the program.   • Bethany Christian Services Fall Conference -- 8:30 AM
    The Bethany Christian Services' Fall Conference entitled “Issues of Attachment and Bonding" will be held Friday, November 6, at the Orange City Trinity Reformed Church. This educational conference for parents and professionals begins with registration at 8:30 AM and runs until 4:00 PM. Keynote speaker is Ron Nydam.     They will also host a live broadcast from Nashville at 4:00 PM. Included will be speakers Jim Daly, Dennis Rainey, Jedd Medefind, and Sharen Ford with special music by Steven Curtis Chapman, Geoff Moore, and the Children of the World Choir.

    A team of “Liberty in North Korea” volunteers will be at Dordt College to screen a documentary and share their stories about the human rights crisis in North Korea. At 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, they will show and discuss their film in the Science Building lecture hall S101.

  • “The Slum Documentary Film Project” -- 7:00 PM
    On Saturday, November 14, travel to some of the poorest places on earth with the crew behind “The Slum Documentary Film Project”. This event begins at 7:00 PM at the Dordt College BJ Haan Auditorium. Admission is $5 for adults, $3.50 for students, free for children age 12 and under. Admission will be used to help cover student expenses to travel to Nairobi, Kenya to film one of the largest slums in Africa.

  • “Arsenic & Old Lace” Performance -- 7:30 PM
    Sioux Center High School will present “Arsenic & Old Lace” at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 at 7:30 PM in TePaske Theatre. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. They can be purchased in advance at the school office or can be purchased at the door.

  • Moms in Touch "Arise! Cry Out!" Event -- 9:00 AM
    The Sioux Center First Christian Reformed Church will host the Moms In Touch 25th anniversary prayer event, “Arise! Cry Out!” from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 14. There is no charge for the event and women can register by calling Rachel at 722-3381.
