- CROP Hunger Walk -- 11:00 AM
A CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 2. Wherever you begin your walk, you are invited to meet other walkers at the Alton Puddle Jumper Trail shelter house at approximately 11:00 AM for refreshments and a short program. Funds raised go to disaster relief efforts all over the world. A portion of the funds support the Orange City area food pantry as well.
- Lauren Winner Presentations
Lauren Winner, a child of a Jewish father and a Southern Baptist mother, has studied both Judaism and Christianity. She will be on the Dordt College campus on Monday, October 3. “What Christianity has to Learn from Judaism and Life with God” will be the topic of her 11:00 AM presentation in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. Her 7:30 PM lecture in Science Building Classroom S101 will be “I love to Tell the Story: Spiritual Memoir in the 21st Century”.
- National Alliance on Mental Illness Support Group -- 7:00 PM
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Support Group will meet from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, in the Fireside Room of the Sioux Center Central Reformed Church. Individuals and family members coping with mental illness are invited to attend. Shirley Matheis will share Convention Highlights about “Borderline Personality Disorder” and “New Developments in the Diagnosis & Treatment of Mental Illness”.

The Village Northwest Unlimited Gala Benefit will be held on Saturday, October 8, in the Wansink Center gym. The Silent Auction, and serving of appetizers, will begin at 6:30 PM. A “Fall Festival of Gospel Music” will be hosted by the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Lennox, South Dakota, on Sunday, October 9.
