- The National Alliance on Mental Illness Support Group -- 7:00 PM
The National Alliance on Mental Illness – Sioux County Support Group will meet from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 3, in the Fireside Room of the Sioux Center Central Reformed Church. This support group is for adults with a mental illness and/or their family members.

- Trumpet Master Class -- 3:30 PM
A free trumpet master class for high school and college trumpet or brass performers will be offered Friday, February 6, from 3:30 – 5:00 PM in the Dordt College Music Building. Leading the class will be the Stoneback Sisters, an identical triplet trumpet trio known nationally for their performance abilities and teaching qualifications. - National Parks Travelogue -- 7:30 PM
KDCR’s travelogue featuring many national parks across the United States will be held at Dordt College's B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, February 6, at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for students.
- "Day of Encouragement"

- Legislative Forums
On Saturday, February 7, Representative Chuck Soderberg and Senator Randy Feenstra will be hosting legislative forums at 9:15 AM at the Le Mars Public Library and 11:00 AM at the Akron Public Library to discuss various issues concerning the Iowa Legislature. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the meetings and address any issues that are of concern.

The Le Mars Calvin Christian Reformed Church is hosting a Praise Band Fest on Saturday, February 7, beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is free and an offering will be taken to benefit the Living Center in Le Mars.
- NISO Winter Pops Concert -- 7:30 PM
The Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra will present its Winter Pops Concert on Saturday, February 7 at 7:30 PM in the Dordt College BJ Haan Auditorium. Joining NISO will be the Stoneback Sisters, the Stoneback Brass and the Dordt & Northwestern Jazz Bands. The Valley Male Chorus will present a concert during the 5:00 PM worship service of the Hull Hope Christian Reformed Church on Sunday, February 8. A freewill offering will be taken for the benefit of those with disabilities who are receiving services through Hope have, both locally and around the world.

- Prairie Grass Film Challenge Screening / Awards -- 5:00 PM
The Awards Ceremony for the 2009 Dordt College Prairie Grass Film Challenge is this Friday night. 24 teams from high schools and colleges competed to make a film in 48 hours. Screening of these films will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM this Friday in the Campus Center Student Activity area and in the Science Building lecture halls. The awards ceremony begins at 8:30 PM in the BJ Haan Auditorium, with “Best of Show Award” and “People’s Choice Award” being given out. This free evening of fun is open to everyone.

“Musica Antiqua”, a professional touring ensemble specializing in the performance of music and dance of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, will perform at 6:30 PM in the Dordt College's B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, February 13.

- Heart Health Fair for Women -- 7:00 AM
“Love Yourself – Love Your Health!” is the theme of a Valentine’s Day Heart Health Fair for Women to be held at the Greater Sioux Community Health Center from 7:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 14. The Health Center is in Sioux Center at 338 First Avenue NW, across the street from the City Hall. Free cholesterol screenings will be available to the first 100 women. Other free screenings include “Smokalyzer" lung screening, Dermascan skin screening, cardio-vascular risk screening, nutrition and weight consultation, and blood pressure checks. Bone Density screenings will be available $35.

- Rock Valley Christian School Winter Festival
The Rock Valley Christian School Winter Festival will be held Friday, February 20. A walk-in auction with baked goods, meat bundles, certificates, crafts and toys will run from Noon until 6:00 PM. Supper will be served from 5:00 – 6:30. And the Oral auction begins at 6:00 PM. Beef & pork bundles can be pre-ordered by contacting the school office or by following the links on the school website.

- “Focus on Marriage” Simulcast Broadcast -- 8:30 AM
The “Focus on Marriage” simulcast will be broadcast at the Orange City Dover Church on Saturday, February 28, from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. This “Focus on the Family” event will teach how to see marriage through the eyes of God. Tickets are $69 per couple, with the first 50 couples to register receiving a $15 discount.
